For many years, LABOSPORT has invested in the training of its employees as well as purchasing the latest and most accurate testing and analysis equipment. Recently, these investments have been significantly added to by the acquisition of SYPAC, a chemical laboratory based in Chartres. Thanks to its growing capacity, LABOSPORT is able to perform all types of testing whether mechanical or chemical on synthetic products.
• Mechanical tests are linked to product characterisation in terms of performance (shock absorption, vertical deformation, slide, energy restitution, ball rebound, wear resistance…). These tests allow assessing the product according to the following criteria: safety, durability and sport performance.
• Chemical analysis is linked to the composition and stability of the product (metal content, filler content, UV resistance…). They typically assess the product according to the following criteria: toxicity, chemical wear, and environmental impact.

Artificial turf
-
LABOSPORT provides laboratory and field tests for sports surfaces made for all types of facilities from international stadiums to local (grass-roots) facilities for a full range of sports.
LABOSPORT carries out tests to national (BS, NFP, DIN, ASTM, etc…), European standards (EN), and International standards (ISO). LABOSPORT is accredited by all the main international federations that utilise synthetic turf including FIFA, IRB, ITF and the FIH to undertake testing according to the standards that they require. With over 20 years’ experience and a large database of several hundreds of products, LABOSPORT can provide expert advice and provide recommendations for component elements used for synthetic turf including yarn fibres, infill material, glues / tapes and shockpads.
-
Athletics tracks
-
LABOSPORT undertakes all types of testing on synthetic surfaces used for athletics tracks (in-situ laid or pre-fabricated). The tests are designed to check conformity to IAAF standards / requirements and related European and National (French and British) standards. Testing includes factors such as performance, safety and environmental (including toxicity).
LABOSPORT have been involved in testing several Olympic Stadiums including London.

Tennis
-
Tennis is played on many different types of surface including both natural (grass, clay) and artificial (synthetic turf, acrylic, macadam, etc.) surfaces. LABOSPORT is certified to undertaken testing for the ITF for surface classification both in the lab and on tennis courts.
LABOSPORT, has many years’ experience in measuring the surface / court pace rating (CPR) according to ITF requirements. In addition LABOSPORT can also certify Tennis courts to European and National standards, both indoors and outdoors courts.
-
Indoor surfaces
-
LABOSPORT performs classification on the full range of indoor surfaces according to their specific requirements and in accordance with National, European and specific sports standards.
Testing includes parameter for performance (player – surface; and ball – surface interactions), safety (fire resistance, toxicity etc.) and installation quality. LABOSPORT is accredited by international federations. These tests apply to all types of indoor surfaces.
-
Horse race tracks
-
LABOSPORT carries out all types of testing on horse race tracks on both natural and artificial surfacing. These are mainly performance tests designed to characterise parameters such as vertical modulus (stiffness/deformation), low and high shear strength. In addition, physical tests (particle size, organic content, moisture content …) and also undertaken. For tufted surfaces or oiled tufted surfaces, LABOSPORT has developed novel test methods which allow analysis of the composition of the mix and its effect on track performance.
